The University of Toronto celebrates its employees through various award programs honouring exceptional performance as well as recognition of service.

Chancellor's Award 5 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 Administrative Staff

This award is comprised of two categories and grants a prize of $1000 to the recipient in each category. The Emerging Leader Award is given to a staff member in an early to mid-career administrative or service role, and the Influential Leader Award is given to a staff member in a more senior administrative role.

The Excellence Through Innovation Award celebrates the significant efforts of individuals and teams to advance the university's strategic objectives and provide an opportunity to share these best practices across the University. Call for nominations are held each spring with the awards reception held at the President's home in the fall.

Simcoe Hall Vice-Presidents' (SHVP) Staff Awards TBD February 2014 Administrative Staff from specific divisions.

The Simcoe Hall Vice-Presidents' Staff Awards celebrate outstanding staff members who have made contributions to their Division or to the broader University 'above and beyond' their job description.

Carolyn Tuohy Impact on Public Policy Award TBD December 2013 Faculty An award recognizing excellence in teaching, research and the impact of scholarship on public policy.

Northrop Frye Award

An award given to a faculty member and an award given to a Department or Division, recognizing distinguished achievements in linking teaching and research.

Vivek Goel Faculty Citizenship Award TBD December 2013 Faculty An award given to a faculty member who has served the university with distinction in multiple leadership capacities including committees, governance bodies and external organizations complementary to the university's academic mission.
Jean E. Foley Quality of Student Experience Award TBD December 2013 Faculty, Staff, Students An award given to a student, alumnus/a, administrative staff or faculty member who has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of academic or extra-curricular student life on campus.
Ludwik and Estelle Jus Memorial Human Rights Prize TBD, January 2014 Faculty, Staff, Students

A prize recognizing positive and lasting contributions to education and action in the fight against discrimination. The award is presented to a faculty, staff or student member of the University who has made a positive and lasting contribution in one or more of these areas: education and action against discrimination; supporting the University’s mission to realize an exemplary degree of equity and diversity; and extending our knowledge as a consequence of our diversity.

Honouring our Retirees Tuesday, May 28, 2013  Faculty & Staff At the time of spring convocation, the U of T community also celebrates its retirees and recognizes their years of service and dedication to the University.

 The University honours staff and faculty who have given 25, 35 and 40 years of service. The reception for this award takes place every spring.
